Description


Timeline is an indie RTS game about building, developing and expanding your Colony. It After a  war that let to the downfall of humanity, a small group of people escaped. Their ship broke down and let them stranded at an island group. 

You are their commander and your goal is to survive and build a new colony. Their are several obstacles in your way, such as raiders, which are not happy that your people have claimed the land.

In a multiplayer scenario, you go up against your friends to see who will last longer. Don't get fooled by the way in thinking they will stay friendly...

Features:

  • Classic RTS game mechanics (farming, fighting, exploring, ...)
  • Volumetric clouds + physically based atmosphere
  • Day / Night cycle
  • Procedural map generation (Forest, Meadows, Savannah) [Not available in the current test version]
  • Relaxing sound design
  • Ingame wiki
  • Multiplayer (Not available at the moment, because the UI needs a remake)
  • Raider AI

Missing:

  • Several AI enemies (only Raiders available)
  • More Assets (Buildings, people, machines, ships, ...)
  • Diplomacy
  • Actual game modes (only one mode currently called "Tutorial")
  • Savegames (Buggy at the moment)
  • More innovative Ideas


Keep in mind, the game is not nearly finished and more a testing prototype or demo version in the current state!!!
Unfortunately, I do not have the time at the moment to develop the game further, but let me know what you think of it :)

Install instructions

  1. Extract the zip file
  2. Start Timeline.exe (DX11) or the batch scripts for the various graphics backends (DX11 works best)
  3. Change the resolution and fullscreen mode in settings (Please first choose the resolution, otherwise you may get a very pixelated fullscreen window)
  4. Start the demo by clicking "Tutorial
